The role of finned industrial heat exchanger and its fin spacing design

Finned industrial heat exchangers are a very wide range of heat exchange equipment used in gas and liquid heat exchangers. It achieves the purpose of enhancing heat transfer by adding fins to a common base pipe. The base pipe can be made of a steel pipe, a stainless steel pipe, a copper pipe or the like. The fins can also be made of steel strips, stainless steel strips, copper strips, aluminum strips, and the like.


At present, the finned industrial heat exchanger is mainly used for air heating in a drying system. It is the main equipment in the hot air device. The heat medium used in the radiator can be steam or hot water, and heat transfer oil can also be used. The pressure is generally not more than 0.8 MPa, and the temperature of the hot air is below 150 °C.


For finned industrial heat exchangers, the design of the fins to be considered is important, especially with respect to its sheet spacing. When designing, it mainly considers factors such as dust accumulation, dusting, easy cleaning, etc., and it must strictly meet the requirements of equipment for pressure drop. When arranging, the spacing between the tube and the tube is not too large, and generally more than 1 mm is suitable for the tube.


In the heat exchange process of the finned industrial heat exchanger, the two sides of the fins are mainly involved in heat exchange, so the distance between the middle portions of the two finned tubes directly affects the heat exchange of the finned industrial heat exchanger. The effect must be taken seriously.
