The plate type or the ripple should be determined according to the actual needs of the heat exchange situation. In case of small pressure drop of large flow rate, small resistance plate type should be selected, and on the contrary, the plate type with large resistance should be selected. According to the pressure and temperature of the fluid, determine the choice of disassembly or brazing. When determining the plate type, it is not suitable to choose the sheet with too small veneer, so that the number of plates is too large, the flow rate between plates is too small, and the heat transfer coefficient is too low, so we should pay more attention to this problem for larger heat exchangers.

In general, several channels are connected in parallel or in series to form different combinations of cold and hot medium channels.

The flow combination form should be calculated according to heat transfer and fluid resistance, and should be determined under the requirements of the process conditions. The heat transfer coefficient in the cold and hot water channel is equal or close, and the best heat transfer effect is obtained. Because the heat transfer coefficient is equal or close to the two sides of the heat transfer surface, the heat transfer coefficient is larger. Although the velocity of each plate in the plate heat exchanger is different, the average flow rate is still calculated when the heat transfer and fluid resistance are calculated. Because the "U" shaped single flow pipe is fixed on the press plate, it is convenient to disassemble and disassemble.

In the design and selection of the plate heat exchanger, the pressure drop is generally required, so it should be checked. If the check pressure drop exceeds the allowable pressure drop, the design and selection calculation should be carried out again until the requirements of the process are met.
