The internal inspection of gasket plate heat exchanger shell stipulates that in addition to the appearance inspection, 15%-20% X-ray and surface hardness inspection should be carried out for the weld, and thickness and hardness inspection should be carried out for the base material. The thickness measuring part of the base material should focus on the joint part and the large curvature part of the head.


Defects found in the heat exchanger inspection should be evaluated. For the non-linear defects, which do not change within one service cycle, generally, no repair can be carried out. For defects that must be repaired after evaluation, a repair plan shall be prepared for timely repair and shall be put on record. After the weld defect repair, the inner shell of the heat exchanger must be polished to level off with the base material, which cannot affect the reinstallation of the tube bundle. The pressure strength test specified in the pressure vessel inspection can be replaced by the pressure test on the shell side after the reloading of the tube bundle.


It belongs to the type heat exchanger of medium and high pressure, and its sealing is mostly trapezoidal tip steel ring sealing, which belongs to the category of hard sealing. When the pressure vessel is inspected, the trapezoidal groove surface must be inspected to prevent cracks at the root of the trapezoidal groove.
