For example, the synthesis reaction of phenol and formaldehyde is a more complex reaction process, and it is currently accepted that the reaction between phenol and formaldehyde to synthesize a phenolic resin is a polycondensation reaction. The basic principle of its production process is the synthesis of a polymer from one or several monomer compounds.


The polycondensation reaction has a stepwise nature and the intermediate formation has a rather stable performance. According to the difference in polycondensation reaction conditions, two kinds of resins, namely thermosetting phenolic resin and thermoplastic phenolic resin, can react when phenol and formaldehyde react. Therefore, the reactor used to produce such products is a resin reactor.


When using a resin reactor, it should be noted that the chemical structure of phenolic is the main factor affecting the synthesis and performance of the phenolic resin. In the selection of raw materials, the requirement for phenolic compounds is that the phenol molecules must have two or more functionalities; in addition, when the phenol ring is attached with an electron donating group, the reaction rate will be faster; when an electron withdrawing group is connected, the reaction rate will be Slow down. In the selection of aldehydes, there are no high requirements, and formaldehyde is generally used in industry.
