Two fluids that exchange heat in an industrial tube heat exchanger, one flowing in the tube, the stroke is called the tube path; the other is flowing outside the tube, and the stroke is called the shell side. The wall surface of the tube bundle is the heat transfer surface. In order to increase the heat transfer coefficient of the fluid outside the pipe, a certain number of transverse baffles are usually installed in the casing. The baffle plate not only prevents fluid short circuit, increases fluid velocity, but also forces the fluid to flow through the tube bundle multiple times in a prescribed path, so that the degree of turbulence is greatly increased. Commonly used baffles are round and disc shaped, and the former is more widely used.


Working principle:

Each time the fluid passes through the tube bundle in the tube, it is called a tube process, and each time it passes through the shell, it is called a shell side. In order to increase the speed of the fluid in the tube, an appropriate partition can be placed in the ends of the two ends to divide the entire tube into several groups on average. In this way, the fluid can pass through the tube bundle multiple times only through a part of the tube at a time, which is called multi-tube. Similarly, in order to increase the flow rate outside the pipe, a longitudinal baffle can be installed in the casing to allow the fluid to pass through the casing space multiple times, which is called a multi-shell process. In a tubular heat exchanger, the temperature of the casing and the bundle are different due to the different fluid temperatures inside and outside the tube.

The fixed tube plate heat exchanger is mainly composed of main parts such as outer casing, tube sheet, tube bundle and head. A tube bundle is arranged in the casing, and the tube ends are welded, expanded or expanded, and the tube is fixed on the tube sheet, and the outer circumference of the tube sheet and the head flange are tightened by bolts. The fixed tube plate heat exchanger has the advantages of simple structure, low cost, easy manufacture and convenient pipe cleaning and maintenance.

The floating end one end tube plate is fixed between the casing and the pipe box, and the other end pipe plate can be freely moved inside the casing, that is, the casing and the tube bundle can be freely expanded. Therefore, there is no temperature difference stress between the tube bundle and the housing. Generally, the floating head is detachable, and the tube bundle can be freely extracted and loaded. This structure of the floating head heat exchanger can be used in a condition in which the tube bundle and the casing have a large temperature difference, and the cleaning and maintenance of the tube bundle and the casing are convenient.

The "U" type tube type is to form the heat exchange tube into a U shape, and the both ends are fixed on the same tube sheet. Since the casing and the heat exchange tube are separated, the heat exchange tube bundle can be freely stretched, and no temperature difference stress is generated due to the temperature difference of the medium. U-tube heat exchanger has only one tube plate, no floating head, and the structure is relatively simple. The tube bundle can be freely extracted and loaded for easy cleaning, and has the advantages of a floating head heat exchanger.
